Job summary

Redline Group Ltd in Helsinki is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering team. The role focuses on mechanical design, modification and optimisation of existing products, taking ownership from concept through prototyping and into production.

You will work in a small team, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing to balance performance with cost and manufacturability, while producing detailed 3D CAD models and documentation. Fluent English is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Approximately five years' experience in a mechanical design engineering position.
• Practical experience with mechanical products in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong 3D CAD design experience with detailed models and drawings.
• Experience using PLM systems and managing engineering documentation.
• Hands-on approach understanding how designs translate to manufacturing.
• Good problem-solving skills balancing technical requirements, cost and constraints.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and modify mechanical components and assemblies for existing and new products.
• Review and optimise current designs for performance, reliability, manufacturability and cost.
• Produce detailed 3D CAD models, technical drawings and documentation.
• Support prototyping, testing and design validation activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to resolve design-related production issues and improve processes.
• Manage design changes and maintain accurate technical documentation in PLM systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams and other departments to deliver projects on time.
