Job summary

Metso is seeking a Chief Engineer, Piping in Espoo, Finland to lead piping activities for global plant delivery projects within Minerals. You will ensure high-quality, cost-effective piping solutions meeting customer requirements, schedules and budgets, while reporting to the Manager, Piping.

The role is based in Espoo with a hybrid working model and occasional travel to sites. You will collaborate with a global team of engineers and partners to drive safety, reliability and innovation across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or related field.
• Experience coordinating piping activities in multidisciplinary industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards.
• Experience with piping design documentation, material specs, layouts, and coordination.
• Proficiency with 3D plant design tools, preferably AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Excellent project execution, planning, budgeting, and risk management.
• Strong communication and leadership in international projects.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead piping engineering activities in plant delivery projects and act as primary piping contact.
• Own piping scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, risks and reporting.
• Ensure technical quality and accuracy of piping designs per codes and standards.
• Prepare piping deliverables: criteria, specs, calculations, drawings, material definitions.
• Review requirements, resolve technical issues, align with contracts and objectives.
• Coordinate interfaces between piping and other disciplines, procurement, and management.
• Support procurement through technical requirements and vendor reviews.
• Contribute to development of piping practices, standardization and cost optimization.
