Job summary

atNorth is seeking a Manager of People Operations to lead an international team across Finland and other Nordics. This hands-on leadership role combines operational expertise with the ability to guide a distributed team, drive improvements, and ensure scalable People Operations delivery.

You will own payroll governance, data quality, and HR systems, partnering with Finance, Compliance, Security, and IT to enable a smooth employee lifecycle across markets.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in People Operations or HR Operations in an international setting.
• 5+ years of people leadership in distributed/remote teams.
• Experience building and improving employee lifecycle processes across multiple countries.
• Knowledge of payroll governance, benefits, pensions and compliance across markets.
• Experience with HR systems, data quality, automation, and workflow improvements.
• Experience using AI as an enabler in people processes.
• Ability to own processes, risk management and audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead an international People Operations team; set priorities and ownership.
• Oversee employee lifecycle operations across hires, onboarding, changes, leaves, mobility, and offboarding.
• Govern payroll; coordinate with local payroll owners and Finance for timely delivery.
• Administer benefits, pensions and insurances across markets; coordinate with providers.
• Design and document workflows, playbooks, and self-service guidance; maintain Confluence.
• Strengthen master data quality and HR systems; drive adoption and automation.
• Own policy governance, compliance, and alignment with local requirements.
• Identify risks and maintain controls; prepare for audits.
• Oversee expense-related People processes and admin within scope.
• Collaborate with People Partners, Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Legal, Security, IT.
