Job summary

UPM is seeking a Category Manager, IT to join its Sourcing organization in Helsinki. You will shape IT category strategies, lead strategic sourcing initiatives, and partner with business stakeholders and technology suppliers to drive value and resilience in the digital landscape.

You will collaborate across IT, finance, legal and information security to deliver commercially sound sourcing solutions, manage risks, and optimize total cost of ownership while keeping a focus on responsible digital

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in business, supply chain management, technology, engineering or related field.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, commercial management, technology vendor management or related areas, ideally within an international environment
• Experience contributing to category strategies, sourcing initiatives, negotiations or other activities that deliver measurable business value
• Knowledge of IT supplier markets, cost drivers and commercial models (software licensing, subscriptions, cloud, professional services)
• Confidence in negotiating and managing commercial agreements with technology suppliers
• Ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, collaborate across functions and translate requirements into clear sourcing decisions
• Fluency in written and spoken English; Finnish or another relevant language is an asset

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement global IT category strategies and plans
• Lead sourcing initiatives, negotiations, contracts and tender processes across software, cloud, infrastructure and IT services
• Identify opportunities to improve total cost of ownership and transparency, manage risks
• Build strong relationships with IT, business, finance, legal and information security teams
• Lead supplier selection, performance management and strategic relationships within IT category
• Monitor technology and supplier market developments and turn insights into actions
