Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation is seeking a Technical Expert to strengthen the Technical Services Automation team. The preferred locations are Vaasa or Turku, Finland, with partial remote work allowed under the local hybrid model.

Qualifications

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics/Automation/Mechatronics/Control Systems or related field.
Experience in technical troubleshooting and problem solving.
Experience with embedded control or automation systems.
Strong analytical mindset and systematic approach to investigations.
Good communication skills and proficiency in English.
Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

Provide high-level technical support to internal and external customers remotely and on-site.
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex automation and control system issues.
Conduct site surveys, commissioning support, and field investigations worldwide.
Simulate and analyze field issues in automation lab using physical and virtual test environments.
Perform root cause analyses and support product reliability improvements.
Manage engine automation software configurations, upgrades, backups, and system modifications.
Collect and analyze field feedback, failure statistics, and operational data for improvements.
Prepare technical documentation including service bulletins, manuals, and survey reports.
Initiate, lead, and support product and process development projects.
Collaborate with R&D and other technical departments to solve problems and improve performance.
Support product introductions, validation, and testing for next-gen automation platforms.
