Job summary

Uponor Infra is seeking a solution-oriented Global Application Engineer to develop and apply infrastructure solutions for stormwater, potable water, and related utility systems. The role combines engineering expertise, 3D modelling, and customer-facing support across the organization.

You will collaborate with customers, partners, and cross-functional teams worldwide, contribute to concept development, and ensure technical drawings and specifications meet standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Several years of engineering or technical application support experience.
• Experience or knowledge in plastic manufacturing and stormwater or potable water systems.
• Strong ability to translate technical knowledge into practical solutions.
• Experience with 3D modelling and CAD software (Autodesk Inventor).
• Ability to create and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration across countries.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for stormwater, potable water, and infrastructure applications.
• Advise sales organizations, customers, designers, consultants, and stakeholders on application needs.
• Review customer requirements and develop technically sound and commercially viable solutions.
• Participate in concept development, design reviews, and improvements to product applications.
• Provide guidance on applicable standards, regulations, and engineering best practices.
• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, drawings, specifications, and other project documentation using CAD software.
• Act as a technical interface between customers and internal teams.
• Participate in project meetings and customer workshops.
• Support the implementation of global engineering standards and design tools.

We are looking for a solution-oriented Global Application Engineer to join Uponor Infra. You will help develop and apply infrastructure solutions for stormwater, potable water, and related utility systems. The position can be based in Vaasa or Nastola in Finland, or in Fristad, Sweden.

In this role, you will combine engineering expertise, 3D modelling, and customer-facing application support to develop solutions that meet customer and business needs. You will collaborate closely with customers and partners, as well as with commercial, engineering, and operational teams across the organization. The role has a global scope and reports to the Manager, Design & Engineering.

What You Will Do

• Provide technical expertise for stormwater, potable water, and other infrastructure applications.
• Advise sales organizations, customers, designers, consultants, and other key stakeholders on application-specific needs.
• Review customer requirements and develop solutions that are technically sound and commercially viable.
• Participate in concept development, design reviews, and improvements to product applications.
• Provide guidance on applicable standards, regulations, and engineering best practices.
• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, manufacturing and installation drawings, technical specifications, and other project documentation using CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor.
• Act as a technical interface between customers and internal commercial, engineering, and operational teams.
• Participate in project meetings and customer workshops.
• Support the implementation of global engineering standards and design tools.

To Succeed In This Role, You Likely Bring

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or another relevant technical field.
• A few years of relevant experience in engineering, technical application support, or a similar role.
• Experience or knowledge in plastic manufacturing and stormwater or potable water systems.
• Strong technical understanding of infrastructure applications, with a practical approach to translating technical expertise into effective solutions.
• Experience with 3D modelling and CAD software, preferably Autodesk Inventor.
• Ability to create and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and other engineering documentation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively across functions, countries, and diverse stakeholder groups.
