Job summary

Job description

We at Pirkanmaan hyvinvointialue are investing in the development of primary health care and are currently seeking a permanent district physician to join our skilled team.

The position is primarily located at Linnainmaan sote-asema. Linnainmaa is a pleasant and growing area in the eastern part of Tampere, with easy access and good local services.

You will have opportunities to develop your own expertise and shape a role that suits you, while actively influencing the future of basic health services.

The job is varied, including reception work, acute on‑call duties, and health centre or school health duties. You will gain experience with the continuity of care model in practice, and you may also work shifts in a digital clinic if you wish. In addition, there are on‑call evening duties (Mon–Thu 16:00–20:00) at Hatanpää or Ylöjärvi about 1–2 times per month, with optional weekend and holiday shifts in the digital clinic or at Hatanpää. On‑call shifts are paid with an enhanced on‑call rate, or you may accrue flex days.

You are eligible for the post if you are a licensed physician in Finland.

When applying to permanent positions, a specialization in general medicine is advantageous. We also value previous experience in the health centre physician role, a development‑minded attitude, and a willingness to commit long‑term to primary health care.

Start date will be agreed separately. The job is full‑time, but part‑time can be negotiated. A six‑month probationary period applies. You must provide required health certificates within one month of starting, and medical check‑ups will be conducted by Pirte Occupational Health. You must also have vaccination protection under Infectious Diseases Act and TB clearance.
