Job summary

Atlas NextWave is seeking a Field Service Technician to support its Energy Storage Systems in Finland. You will be the on-site electrical expert, performing maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs across Finland with potential Nordic assignments.

The role requires hands-on experience with energy storage or high-voltage systems, PLCs (Siemens) and embedded software, plus valid safety training and licenses. A university-level electrical background and strong language skills in Finnish and English

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent vocational qualification.
• 3–5 years of electrical experience, preferably in energy storage or high-voltage applications.
• Experience with PLC systems (Siemens) and embedded software.
• Knowledge of low- and high-voltage installations.
• Familiarity with SFS 6000/6001 standards and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance to keep installations safe, reliable and ready to perform.
• Diagnose electrical and control faults, replace components and restore operation.
• Perform inspections, electrical measurements and technical checks.
• Collaborate with Support Engineers to resolve complex issues.
• Record maintenance activities, faults and spare parts usage.
• Maintain service vehicle with tools and parts required.
• Provide insights to engineering teams to improve products and service.
• Maintain high safety standards and report incidents.

Field Service Technician - Energy Storage

Our client, an international energy technology company, is looking for a Field Service Technician to support its growing Energy Storage Systems (ESS) business in Finland. You’ll combine hands-on technical work with independence, customer contact and opportunities to develop your expertise in an expanding sector.

Your role

You’ll be the technical expert on site, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing energy storage systems and transformer substations. Working primarily across Finland, with potential assignments elsewhere in the Nordics, you’ll take ownership of technical challenges with support from an experienced international engineering team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out planned maintenance to keep installations safe, reliable and ready to perform.
• Diagnosing electrical and control faults, replacing components and restoring system operation.
• Performing inspections, electrical measurements and technical checks.
• Working with Support Engineers to resolve complex technical issues.
• Recording maintenance activities, faults and spare parts usage.
• Keeping your service vehicle equipped with the tools and parts you need.
• Feeding practical insights back to engineering teams to improve products and service.
• Maintaining high safety standards and reporting incidents and deviations.

What you bring

You’re an electrical professional who enjoys understanding how systems work, solving problems and taking responsibility. You’re comfortable working independently at customer sites and enjoy a role that gets you out into the field.

You’ll bring:

• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a university of applied sciences, or a relevant electrical vocational qualification.
• 3-5 years of electrical experience, with energy storage or high-voltage experience considered an advantage.
• Experience with PLC systems, such as Siemens, and embedded software.
• Good knowledge of low- and high-voltage installations.
• Familiarity with SFS 6000 and SFS 6001 standards.
• Valid SFS 6002 electrical safety training, an Occupational Safety Card and EA1 first aid training.
• The qualifications and safety training required for the role under Tukes requirements.
• ID06 and Valtti cards.
• A category B driving license.
• Good Finnish and English language skills.
