Location: Helsinki office, Uusimaa, Finland; field service mainly across Finland | Employment information: Full-time, permanent; mobile field service with a hybrid arrangement

In this Service & Maintenance post, the BESS Service Technician takes responsibility for practical tasks that keep Cactos energy-storage installations operating as intended. Scheduled checks sit alongside fault investigation, safe repair work and commissioning assistance. The job therefore requires both hands-on electrical capability and disciplined adherence to occupational and SFS 6002 procedures for battery work. Field visits are mainly in Finland, with limited Nordic travel possible. The technician needs to be comfortable completing work independently while using maintenance-team and technical support when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned servicing and inspections on BESS installations and their connected electrical equipment.
• Investigate faults encountered in the field and determine the underlying cause.
• Change faulty or worn components as required during service work.
• Complete necessary repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist commissioning work for energy-storage equipment when needed.
• Help ensure that equipment is operated safely after service and commissioning activities.
• Check that the full BESS installation performs according to its intended operation.
• Carry out practical field-service duties independently while travelling mainly within Finland.
• Undertake occasional short service assignments in other Nordic countries when required.

Qualifications

• An electrical vocational qualification is required, together with eligibility meeting the requirements for an electrical professional.
• Candidates need at least some experience of DC, battery or power-electronics systems.
• The role requires adherence to occupational safety requirements and SFS 6002 procedures for battery work.
• Readiness to travel mainly in Finland and occasionally elsewhere in the Nordic countries is required.
• A valid B driving licence, valid SFS 6002 electrical work safety card, valid occupational safety card and first-aid qualification are required.
• Fluent Finnish and basic English are required for this position.
• Cactos seeks an energetic, self-directed approach to practical field work.
• Preferred: Practical experience with BESS systems and associated electrical equipment, including support for energy-storage commissioning, is beneficial.
• Preferred: Living in or near the Helsinki or Tampere area is beneficial.
