Tinku Latin Flavors Restaurant in Helsinki is seeking two experienced cooks to join the kitchen team. You will prepare dishes following recipes and quality standards, and may manage a shift independently when required, handling preparation through service and closing.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of kitchen experience, knowledge of Latin American cuisine, and availability for evenings and weekends. Finnish Hygiene Passport and right to work in Finland are required.

Join our kitchen team at Tinku, a South American restaurant in Töölö, Helsinki, with a particular focus on Latin American flavors.

We are looking for 2 experienced cooks who take pride in their work and feel confident taking responsibility for kitchen service.

About the role

You will prepare and serve dishes following Tinku’s recipes and quality standards. After becoming familiar with our menu and kitchen routines, you should be comfortable managing a shift independently when needed, from preparation through service and closing.

Your daily tasks will include:

• Organising mise en place and preparing hot and cold dishes.
• Coordinating orders and plating during service.
• Checking stock at closing and sending a list of ingredients needed for the next day.
• Carrying out inventory counts, maintaining stock records and rotating ingredients to minimise waste.
• Following food safety procedures and keeping the kitchen and equipment clean.
• Completing kitchen opening and closing tasks.

What we are looking for

• At least two years of verifiable experience as a cook in a restaurant kitchen.
• Experience in different kitchens.
• Experience/knowledge of latin american cuisine is highly valued.
• Good organisation and the ability to maintain quality during busy service.
• Experience managing kitchen inventory and planning ingredient requirements.
• Availability for evening and weekend shifts.
• A Finnish Hygiene Passport (Hygieniapassi).
• The right to work in Finland.
• Spanish is our main kitchen working language, so practical Spanish communication skills are strongly preferred. English/Finnish skills are also welcome.

Employment details

• Vacancies: 2.
• Hours: Full-time or part-time, by agreement. Full-time hours average 37.5 per week, normally 112.5 hours over three weeks. For part-time work, the minimum hours will be agreed in the written employment contract.
• Shifts: Mainly evenings and weekends.
• Pay: Discussed at the interview.
• Start date: Immediately.
