Job summary

Juvenes Oy in Helsinki is seeking a cook to join our versatile restaurant environment. You will prepare lunch meals, set up and replenish the buffet, and assist with meeting and party service products.

Restaurant Syke is located in the Lääkäritalo building in Vallila, Helsinki, with good transport connections near the Sörnäinen metro station. We offer our customers high-quality buffet lunches, a cozy bistro with cafe and snack options, as well as high-level meeting, party, and representation services.

Our operations are diverse and varied – in addition to the daily routine of a lunch restaurant, we organize meetings, parties, and other events both in the stunning event spaces of Lääkäritalo and at our customers' own celebrations. You will get to work in a versatile restaurant environment where no two days are the same.

We are looking for a cook who has superb kitchen skills but is also comfortable working with customers in the dining area when necessary. You will become part of a warm-hearted work community where expertise, humor, and a positive attitude are valued. The position offers a lot of responsibility, but also a sense of achievement every day – our customers appreciate the high-quality food and good service, which is reflected in the employee's daily work.

Working hours are primarily on weekdays and day shifts, but evening and weekend work are part of the job description in connection with events and functions.

Sufficient proficiency in Finnish is required for the position, as the recipes, work instructions, and self-monitoring documentation used in the work are in Finnish.

The cook's duties include:

• Preparation of lunch meals and other daily kitchen tasks
• Setting up lunch and replenishing the buffet table
• Preparation of salad bar products
• Preparation of meeting and party service products
• Use of the cash register when necessary
• Customer service together with the dining area staff

The employment is permanent and part-time, 90h/3 weeks. Work begins as agreed, preferably at the beginning of September.
