Scope Of Role
- Acts as the coordination lead within Mercury for environmental compliance across multiple projects.
- Provides oversight, consistency, and technical support to ensure all projects meet regulatory and company requirements.
- Supports site teams in maintaining high standards of environmental compliance and audit readiness.
- Ensures alignment of environmental compliance and sustainability strategy across projects within the Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role
- Coordinate environmental and sustainability activities across multiple projects (not limited to one site).
- Provide oversight and support to site Environmental Engineers.
- Ensure consistent implementation of Environmental Management Systems across projects.
- Review project environmental documentation (CEMP, subplans, registers, etc.) for quality and consistency.
- Support risk identification and mitigation at a multi-project level.
- Act as escalation point for complex environmental or sustainability issues.
- Interface with client representatives at program level when needed.
- Coordinate reporting (environmental / sustainability) across projects.
- Drive continuous improvement and standardisation of processes.
- Lead LEED strategy and certification process across multiple projects.
- Support the review and approve LEED documentation and technical submittals (EPDs, VOC, materials, etc.).
- Ensure consistency of LEED approach across projects (templates, trackers, review process).

Essential Criteria
- Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline
- LEED GA Certification.
- Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in environmental compliance within construction
- Strong understanding of environmental permits, licences, and regulatory processes
- Experience supporting multiple projects or complex sites
- Experience in audits, inspections, and regulatory engagement
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Strong organisational and reporting skills
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in hyperscale data centre or large‑scale construction projects
- Knowledge of other sustainability frameworks (e.g., BREEAM, WELL, EC3, One click, carbon reporting)
- Experience supporting sustainability strategy at programme or portfolio level
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and environmental management systems
- Experience with environmental audits and compliance assurance programmes
- Familiarity with client‑specific environmental requirements (e.g., Microsoft standards)
- Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis (e.g. Hammertech)
- Knowledge of digital tools for compliance tracking (ACC, environmental systems, etc.)
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior environmental engineers
