Job summary

Virta Ltd is seeking an Engineering Manager for the eMSP and Driver Services team. You will lead a nine-person group delivering native mobile apps, white-label platforms, payments, RFID, and roaming features, while shaping architecture and long-term technical strategy.

In a role that blends people leadership with hands-on architecture, you’ll partner with Product to ship reliable software and grow engineers through a competency framework. Hybrid onsite work with Finland residency is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager leading a product engineering team.
• Software engineering depth to challenge design decisions and earn team trust.
• Track record of predictable delivery in an agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow nine engineers across mobile and backend disciplines.
• Own delivery with Product, setting commitments and ensuring reliable execution.
• Own quality and operations, driving production ownership and incident readiness.
• Safeguard the platform with systems and controls against fraud and threats.
• Drive modernization from PHP monolith toward TypeScript/NestJS services.
• Hire, onboard, and make performance calls to keep bar high.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and other teams to deliver coherent driver experiences.
