Role Overview
As Team Lead / Engineering Manager you will lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver ICEYE’s radar payload systems. You will guide project execution, maintain clear communication, and bridge the gap between technical work and broader organizational goals. Your hands‑on electronics or RF engineering experience, combined with leadership capability, will enable the team to move forward efficiently and advance ICEYE’s satellite payload technology.
Your Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Coordinate and lead a cross‑domain, multi‑disciplinary team of 5+ members through the full lifecycle of the radar payload and downlink data systems.
- Manage and mentor a diverse group of engineers, from junior to highly experienced staff‑level experts, with a focus on developing Electronic/RF engineering talent.
- Own project timelines, schedules, and resource allocation for complex, end‑to‑end hardware development cycles.
- Present daily or weekly progress updates, translating complex engineering constraints, risks, and milestones to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with Staff Engineers and Technical Leads, removing roadblocks so they can focus on technical execution.
Requirements
Must haves
- 5+ years of proven industry experience as a designer (electronics or RF), emphasizing applied industrial product development.
- Experience designing complex PCB and RF subsystems.
- 5+ years of managing and coordinating engineering teams of more than 5 people.
- Experience leading senior technical experts and guiding highly experienced staff.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating the full product lifecycle end‑to‑end for complex systems.
- Strong background in coordinating cross‑domain and multi‑disciplinary projects (managing interconnected systems rather than isolated tasks).
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage timelines, balance priorities, and interface with non‑technical stakeholders.
Nice to haves
- Fundamental knowledge of RF, aerospace hardware, or spaceborne payload systems.
- Familiarity with the project management challenges of developing downlink data systems and highly reliable electronics.
