Silverback is currently partnering with a leading international construction contractor on a major Data Centre project in Vasa, Finland, and is recruiting an EHS Specialist. Prior Data Centre construction experience is critical for this role.

This offers the opportunity to work on a large-scale, high-profile data centre project within a dynamic international construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to project Safety Management Systems, client EHS plans, and Finnish statutory EHS provisions.
• Assist with employee and subcontractor onboarding in compliance with Finnish legislation.
• Act as the site point of contact for local Municipality coordination.
• Coordinate task-specific method statements, risk assessments, permits to work, and COSHH assessments.
• Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and accident investigation reports, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
• Manage site safety indicators, safety interventions, statutory inspection records, and toolbox talks.
• Oversee subcontractor compliance with EHS policies, training, PPE availability, and welfare/hygiene facilities.
• Support site waste reduction, recycling programs, and Safety File documentation.

Essential Criteria

• Proven EHS management experience in Data Centre Construction (3+ years on large construction sites).
• Thorough knowledge of Finnish EHS legislation and experience liaising with local Municipalities.
• Strong communication, computer, and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively, with flexibility in working patterns.
