Job summary

UNU-WIDER in Helsinki is seeking an experienced web and systems developer to join the Knowledge & Information Services Team. You will own development, deployment and maintenance of UNU-WIDER websites, collaborating with IT and Communications to plan sites and integrate web applications.

The role requires strong Drupal 7 and PHP skills, LAMP environment experience, and a proven ability to deliver secure, user-friendly web solutions within a multi-cultural research setting.

Qualifications

• Six years of relevant experience in IT or international orgs.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS or engineering, or equivalent.
• Deep familiarity with Drupal 7 modules (CTools/Views/Panels).
• Experience creating custom Drupal 7 modules.
• Strong PHP, Drupal 7 theme layer and LAMP skills.
• Experience building web interfaces.
• Excellent English communication; other UN languages an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of UNU-WIDER websites.
• Coordinate with IT focal point and Communications Team on site planning.
• Write clean, tested code following best practices.
• Produce and maintain development documentation.
• Monitor security patches and updates for websites.
• Assist in needs assessment for new web projects.
