Job summary

Tuxera Oy in Espoo, Finland, is seeking an IT Director who will own IT and security for the entire company, enabling safe AI use while managing risk and governance across global sites.

You will set the IT strategy, govern MSP partners, and build the IT and security roadmap with clear owners, budgets and milestones.

The role reports to the CFO, requires 7+ years in IT/security, and includes travel to international sites as needed.

Qualifications

Job description

You'll own IT and security for the whole company and make it possible for Tuxera to use AI safely. Our engineers and business teams want AI tools, and so do we. Your job is to make that happen in a secure, risk-managed way: pick the right tools, protect our source code and customer data, and turn "can we use this?" into a quick, clear answer instead of a blocker.

You'll set the IT and security strategy that supports our goal of reaching €100 million in annual revenue, run governance and risk, and get things done through a set of trusted partners. We use a managed-service model: our managed service provider (MSP) provides the service desk, infrastructure, endpoint management and a 24×7 security operations center (SOC), and specialist partners support our core SaaS platforms. You connect all of it to the business, in a hands-on role where you'll design things as well as manage them. Because we're an engineering company, you'll also need to understand how our developers work and what they need from IT.

You report to the CFO and are responsible for all Tuxera locations and global operations, which involves working across time zones and occasional travel to our international sites. The role is based at our Espoo headquarters in the Helsinki capital area, Finland.

What You Will Do

• Turn what engineering and business teams need into clear IT priorities
• Choose and manage our partners: contracts, scope, service levels, performance and escalations
• Build the IT and security roadmap and deliver it with clear owners, budgets and milestones
• Decide which AI tools we use and on what terms: check how vendors handle data, set clear rules for what source code and customer data can go into each tool, and manage access through SSO
• Help teams get real use out of AI tools, including coding assistants in developer workflows
• Design automations and integrations that cut manual IT work, such as onboarding, offboarding, access requests and ticket handling
• Lead security operations with our SOC: incident response, vulnerability management and awareness training
• Own the risk register, policies, ISMS, and backup and recovery
• Lead our path to ISO 27001 certification
• Keep employee support, endpoint management and business systems running smoothly across all our locations
• Support engineering infrastructure: self-hosted Git, Gerrit, GitHub and internal build and test tools
• Manage IT budgets, licenses, SaaS inventory and vendor risk, and report to leadership on service performance and future needs

What You Bring

• Experience as an IT Director or in a similar role at a software company
• 7+ years in IT and/or security, including owning an environment end to end
• Experience managing IT service providers and contractors: defining work, assessing proposals and fixing delivery problems
• Experience supporting developer environments: source control, CI/CD and build tooling
• Broad technical judgment across infrastructure, business systems and security, with Linux experience and a strong Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune background
• Experience building IT roadmaps and managing budgets, licenses and supplier contracts
• Practical knowledge of security and risk management, such as ISO 27001 or NIST CSF

A strong plus: experience rolling out AI tools in a company; embedded or systems software experience; Git/Gerrit administration; Atlassian Cloud; Salesforce/HubSpot; Workato or another integration platform; Fortinet; Cloudflare; AWS/Azure; and GPG release signing.
