Job summary

Nokia, a global leader in connectivity, seeks a Director of Hardware Development for Nokia Defense in Espoo. You will lead a high-performing hardware development unit delivering secure, mission-critical hardware for Connectivity products and solutions.

You will define the hardware delivery aligned with roadmaps, engage with defense customers and partners, and drive innovation while upholding rigorous engineering standards and a culture of ownership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in hw development of high-end embedded systems.
• R&D leadership experience in hardware within telecoms or defense.
• M.Sc./B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of the Connectivity domain including Radio, Core and Network Management.
• Background in Digital HW, Mechanical/Thermal, HW Integration & Testing.
• English and Finnish or Swedish language skills.
• Candidate must pass/hold a Finnish security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead a team of hardware architects, technical experts and hardware development engineers.
• Define and execute the hardware delivery aligned with Nokia Defense Connectivity roadmap, and our design targets and customer requirements.
• Act as a senior technology leader in engagements with defense customers and strategic industry partners.
• Adopt best in class and future proof hardware engineering methods.
• Build effective relationships with external partners and technology ecosystems to accelerate innovation and delivery.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability and technical excellence.
• Support individual career development, coaching and performance.
