Job summary

UPM-Kymmene Oyj Global Functions is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Sourcing BI and Analytics team. The role is based in Tampere or Helsinki, Finland, or Wrocław, Poland, and focuses on building data pipelines, data models, and scalable data assets to enable data-driven decisions.

You will work with Snowflake, dbt, Azure, SQL, and Python while collaborating with Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Information Architects. Fluent English is required in our international environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Data Engineer experience with data modelling and best practices
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IS/CS/Engineering/Economics/Management Science/Math
• Strong knowledge of modern data warehouse modelling techniques (Medallion, Data Vault 2.0)
• Expertise with Snowflake, Microsoft Azure; SQL and Python; REST APIs for integration
• Write clean, maintainable code and document workflows for collaboration
• Fluent in English in an international environment

• Design, build, and optimize robust data pipelines and architectures
• Translate business requirements into actionable data structures and specs
• Collaborate on data architecture and information architecture
• Create and maintain scalable, reusable, secure data assets
• Develop, test, and maintain data pipelines for integration and insights
• Optimize data solutions for performance and cost in cloud
• Implement data quality frameworks and access controls
• Collaborate with Analysts, Data Scientists, and Information Architects
• Share best practices and stay updated on trends
