Job summary

Google Inc. is seeking a field mechanical engineer to support the Finland campus within Data Center Services. You will provide field mechanical engineering support and issue resolution, aligning with TPM and SPCs, ensuring safety, quality and schedule requirements.

You will collaborate with PMCs, AE and SPCs, oversee mechanical installation activities, and drive cross‑team coordination to maintain EHS and project performance across complex data center mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience managing construction projects.
• Experience with data center equipment and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive project mechanical outcomes of high complexity and scope as a key contributor, integrating feedback from multiple stakeholders when necessary.
• Contribute to project mechanical scoping, direction, and manage project mechanical priorities and allocation of technical resources within the project.
• Provide technical leadership to the projects, support and optimize project design, scope, schedule, quality, commissioning, and safety for mechanical discipline. Provide feedback to the central partner teams on possible improvements.
• Troubleshoot advanced mechanical system events, elevate only the most complex issues as appropriate. Contribute to the development of cross‑project, cross‑functional, and cross‑organizational procedures and ensure alignment of the mechanical engineer’s work with multiple teams/projects.
• Support interactions with the authorities, searching for possible solutions on inspections deficiencies, third‑party inspection agreements, and advance statements/instructions from the authorities’ correction requests.
