Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care in Ontario is seeking a Personal Support Worker to provide compassionate, resident-centred care to seniors. You will assist with daily living activities, personal hygiene and mobility, while maintaining safety and dignity.

The role supports diverse communities and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team. The successful candidate will hold a PSW certificate, CPR, and will work within government standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent.
• Experience in long term care setting is an asset.
• Current CPR Certificate.
• Registration with Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) preferred.
• Resident-centred care focus with strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem-solve and time manage.
• Ability to work independently as well as be an active, positive team player.
• Behavioural management training (GPA, U-First, CPI) an asset.
• Computer literacy (Point Click Care, MS Office). Basic knowledge of Workday an asset.
• Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to assist clients in daily activities and personal hygiene.
• Support the clients' physical, social and emotional needs in a safe manner.
• Follow resident-centred care approach and comply with government standards, residents' rights and organizational philosophy.
• Work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
