Job summary

TIAS at the University of Turku invites applications for Collegium Fellowships. Fellows conduct a self-designed, internationally excellent research project over three years, disseminate results, attend TIAS meetings and events, and engage in interdisciplinary activities.

The positions are based on University of Turku campuses; fellows must reside in Finland and attend campus regularly. Eligibility requires a doctorate awarded within twelve years before the deadline, with special-reason

Qualifications

• PhD normally awarded within twelve years before the deadline, with listed special-reason exceptions (maternity/paternity/parental leave, military or non-military service, long illness) and justification in CV.
• Successful publishing/scientific work and significant activity and engagement in international academic networks after the doctorate.
• Ambitious research plans should aim at new scientific breakthroughs.
• Project discipline must fit Economics, Education, Humanities, Law, and Social Sciences.
• Teaching may be up to 5% of annual workload; additional up to 5% for other academic/administrative duties; 1,612 annual hours.

Responsibilities

• Fellows conduct a self-designed, internationally excellent research project over three years, disseminate results, attend and contribute to TIAS meetings and events, and participate in interdisciplinary activities.
• The research must align with the University of Turku department and its multidisciplinary themes/areas of strength.
• Positions are on a University of Turku campus; fellows must reside in Finland and attend campus regularly.
• Collegium Fellow (Collegium Researcher): four positions.
• Shortlisting and external reviews with TIAS leadership; ethics considerations and a structured evaluation framework.
• Required documents and templates must be prepared and submitted in English.
