Job summary

AFRY is seeking an experienced Chief Process Engineer to lead process engineering in the chemicals & biorefining, mining & metals sectors. The role is based in the Helsinki metropolitan area or Oulu, with a supported hybrid working model.

You will oversee process engineering in your design area, lead basic and detail engineering projects, and collaborate with multinational teams to deliver sustainable and innovative solutions.

Qualifications

• Master of Science degree in Metallurgy or similar education.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in process design.
• Experience of basic and detail engineering projects within the mining and metals industry.
• Safety-critical mindset.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills in English; Finnish and Swedish are a plus.
• Leadership skills with ability to work in cross-functional and multinational teams.
• Willingness to travel.

We are recruiting an experienced professional for the role of Chief Process Engineer in the Chemicals & Biorefining, Mining & Metals process engineering team within the Industry Division. The team provides engineering and consulting services globally to industrial and start-up clients. The work is carried out in an international environment and involves close cooperation across disciplines and organizational boundaries.

Your primary place of work can be located in the Helsinki metropolitan area or Oulu. AFRY supports a hybrid working model.

As a chief process engineer you will:

• Be responsible for process engineering in your own design area
• Lead and coordinate process engineering in basic and detail engineering projects
• Develop your personal skills and take part in collaborative internal development projects
• Share your engineering and industry know-how with the team

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate has:

• Master of Science degree in Metallurgy or a similar education
