Job summary

AFRY is seeking a seasoned Project Controls Manager in Finland to lead time, cost and document management across large process-industry investments. The role involves guiding a project controls team, planning resources, coordinating with clients, suppliers and contractors, and supporting the Project Manager in change management.

Location is primarily Vantaa with flexibility to work from AFRY Finland offices.

Qualifications

• B.Sc./M.Sc. (Tech or Economics) or similar.
• 15+ years in industrial investment projects (prefer EPCM).
• Excellent cooperation and communication skills.
• Active and solution-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work in large, multidisciplinary and global teams.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Understanding of project management and project controls tools (scheduling tools, Power BI).
• Fluent in Finnish and English.

• Manage the project controls activities and team in projects.
• Plan the activities and resources to fulfill the agreed scope of project controls.
• Manage and execute time and cost management activities in close cooperation with the client, suppliers and contractors.

• Following up, controlling and reporting the progress in projects in close cooperation with project management.
• Supporting the Project Manager with tasks such as coordination of work, communication and change management.

Job Description

We are looking for a PROJECT CONTROL MANAGER to work together with Project Controls department and to be responsible for schedule, cost and document management related activities in our project delivery.

Project Control Manager works in various project controls management and planning tasks in large EPCM projects. Work tasks include:

• Taking responsibility of tasks related to time, cost and document management in projects.
• Managing the project controls activities and team in projects.
• Planning the activities and resources to fulfill the agreed scope of project controls.
• Managing and executing time and cost management activities in close cooperation with the client, suppliers and contractors.
• Working as part of AFRY project team for process industry investment projects.
• Following up, controlling and reporting the progress in projects in close cooperation with project management.
• Supporting the Project Manager with tasks such as coordination of work, communication and change management.

Your main location will be in Vantaa, but working at AFRY Finland’s other offices is also possible.

Qualifications

In order to succeed in this role, you have:

• B.Sc./M.Sc. (Tech. or Ecomonics) or similar.
• Experience +15 years in industrial investment projects, preferably EPCM.
• Excellent cooperation and communication skills.
• Active and solution-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work in large, multidisciplinary and global teams.
• Strong leaderships skills.
• Understanding of project management and project controls tools, such as scheduling tools and Power BI.
• Fluency in Finnish and English.

Project Controls Manager may also participate in sales and development, so we appreciate sales and entrepreneurial attitude and possibility to travel in Finland and abroad.

You stand out if you have project experience in process industry projects such as in pulp and paper, mining and metals or in chemical process industry. Experience in working in start-up or new technology environment is considered an advantage.
