Job summary

Black Pen Recruitment seeks a Data Solution Architect to relocate to Malta and lead the design and delivery of Azure-based data platforms, BI, and analytics for clients in a consulting environment. The role emphasizes architecture, leadership, and client collaboration in a fast-paced setting.

The candidate should have strong Azure data skills, Power BI, and governance knowledge, with experience in large-scale data projects and a willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years in a similar senior role.
• Experience designing and implementing Azure Data solutions using Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Azure Purview.
• Knowledge of Master Data Management and Data Governance frameworks.
• Familiar with CI/CD and Azure DevOps.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; leadership abilities.
• Willing to travel across the UK and abroad when required.
• Graduate-level education in Computer Science or a relevant field; professional qualification valued.
• Formal training/certification on related technologies is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end design, deployment, and delivery of Azure Data Platforms (Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, Data Lakehouses, pipelines, BI, analytics).
• Presales, estimating and proposal writing; responding to RFPs.
• Stay up to date with new technologies and advise clients accordingly.
• Develop data strategy/roadmaps with clients and plan delivery.
• Mentor and guide delivery team members; enforce architecture/documentation standards.
