Job summary

Finnair Plc is seeking a Safety Manager for its Technical Operations to coordinate SMS and SEMS, assess risks, and promote a strong safety culture. The role emphasizes hazard identification, change management, and governance alignment with aviation standards.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in aviation or safety-critical environments, a relevant degree, and strong communication with stakeholders in English and Finnish. This is a site-based position with strong safety leadership expectations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in aviation, safety, or a related field.
5+ years in aviation, aircraft maintenance, safety, or similar safety-critical ops.
Strong understanding of aviation safety management and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

Coordinate SMS and SEMS activities within Technical Operations.
Identify, assess, monitor, document, and promote safety and security risks.
Facilitate safety risk assessments and management of change reviews.
Ensure mitigation actions are implemented and followed up.
Maintain alignment with EASA, IOSA, and internal safety governance requirements.
Facilitate safety management meetings and risk communications.
Monitor safety reports, audits, and corrective actions.
Promote Just Culture and proactive safety learning.
Analyze safety data to identify trends and weak signals.
Act as Business Security Officer for Technical Operations.
