Job summary

Enersense Engineering is seeking an experienced Automation Specialist to join our client’s Helsinki project team, delivering automation and control systems in complex projects. You will lead automation engineering activities from design through commissioning and handover, coordinating with project management, electrical and instrumentation teams, vendors and the client.

You will define automation requirements, review technical documentation, and participate in supplier evaluation, procurement

Qualifications

• Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Control Engineering.
• Several years of experience in industrial automation and control system engineering.
• Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA or other industrial control systems.
• Experience in multidisciplinary industrial projects (process energy manufacturing/infrastructure).
• Understanding of automation design, instrumentation and control principles.
• Experience with engineering documentation, technical specifications and vendor coordination.
• Experience with commissioning, testing and troubleshooting is an advantage.
• Ability to coordinate technical interfaces with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Willingness to travel to project sites (80% Helsinki, 20% project sites).

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate automation engineering activities from design through commissioning and handover.
• Develop, review and approve automation and control system designs, specifications and technical documentation.
• Define automation requirements and ensure compliance with project specifications, standards and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate automation interfaces with process, electrical, instrumentation and other engineering disciplines.
• Review technical documentation, drawings, calculations and vendor documentation.
• Participate in the selection and technical evaluation of automation systems, equipment and suppliers.
• Support procurement activities, including preparation of technical specifications and evaluation of supplier offers.
• Coordinate and supervise automation contractors and suppliers during project execution.
• Support the control system engineering and integration activities.
• Participate in testing, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
• Identify technical risks and support the resolution of design and implementation issues.
• Monitor progress, quality and compliance of automation deliverables.
• Support project management with technical expertise, planning and reporting.
• Ensure that automation documentation is completed and updated for commissioning and final handover.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and development of automation engineering practices.

Enersense Engineering is currently looking for an experienced Automation Specialist to join our client’s project team and contribute to the successful delivery of automation and control systems in complex industrial projects in Helsinki, Finland.

In this role, you will be responsible for automation engineering and technical coordination throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with project management, electrical and instrumentation teams, vendors, contractors and the client.

• Experience with engineering documentation, technical specifications and vendor coordination.
• Previous experience with commissioning, testing and troubleshooting is an advantage.
• Ability to coordinate technical interfaces and work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
• Willingness to travel to project sites when required, work will be performed 80% in Helsinki and 20% on project sites
