Job summary

Ruukki Construction seeks an Area IT Manager to lead local IT development in Finland and oversee regional IT operations across Central Eastern Europe. You will shape the IT roadmap, manage the Finland team, and ensure alignment with SSAB IT policies.

Fluent Finnish and English are required; you will collaborate with business stakeholders, manage budgets, vendors, and infrastructure while fostering sustainable, safe, and reliable IT services.

Responsibilities

Area IT Manager, Finland and Europe

Do you want to be part of building a more sustainable future and be part of a professional and successful team in an international company? Maybe this is your new challenge!

We are looking for a strategic-minded and hands-on Area IT Manager to manage local IT development and support activities in Finland and to oversee our regional IT operations across Ruukki locations in Central Eastern Europe. This role combines leadership, operational responsibility, and strategic execution in a dynamic international environment.

The preferred location is Alajärvi or any of our locations in South Ostrobothnia, Finland.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of the Area Europe IT roadmap and resource planning.
• Ensure day-to-day IT support and development activities are aligned with Ruukki and SSAB IT policies (executed by internal teams and external vendors).
• Manage team-level IT costs, including annual budgeting and development proposals.
• Oversee contracts and vendor management, including invoicing.
• Collaborate with SSAB common IT on infrastructure and application development.
• Define and implement collaboration models with business stakeholders across Europe.
• Act as a general point of contact for infrastructure-related topics within Ruukki Construction IT management.
• Act as line manager for the local IT team in Finland and lead regional IT managers in Central and Eastern Europe.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a person with strong leadership and team management capabilities, and who has experience in:

• Business applications and IT infrastructure (including security)
• Strategy and roadmap execution
• Business process development
• Project management
• Agile methodologies and service delivery frameworks (e.g., ITIL)
• Vendor management

The ideal candidate communicates fluently in Finnish and English, both written and oral.
