Job summary

Navia Design, the Boat & Yacht Design team at Aivan, is seeking an experienced Naval Architect to join our Helsinki studio. You will contribute to the technical definition and documentation of leisure craft from pre-concept to construction and sea trials.

You will lead mass estimation, structural calculations, stability analyses, and integration of components while maintaining compliance with ISO rules and delivering high-quality drawings and documentation for clients.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience with serial-production or semi-custom leisure crafts up to 24m.
• Proven design office experience taking vessels from concept to production design.
• Deep knowledge of Naval Architecture and related ISO rules.
• Good understanding of composite construction and mass estimation.
• Fluent English and strong communication skills.
• Good project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Mass estimation and structural calculation (design + scantling ISO 12215-5).
• Stability & seakeeping analysis (ISO 12217-1).
• Component selection and integration, networking.
• Rule assessment and construction follow-up with clients.
• Hull design and performance/propulsion calculations.
• Produce general technical arrangements, drawings, and documentation.
• Coordinate with teams to ensure timely project delivery.

Navia Design is a leading Nordic boat and yacht design studio. We help launch, grow, and evolve progressive yards by integrating Design and Naval Architecture. The office is located in Helsinki, Finland. Navia is the Boat and Yacht Design team at Aivan.

As we continue to develop our Naval Architecture team, we are on the lookout for an experienced Naval Architect to join ouraward-winning groupof designersandengineers.

You will be part of a team in charge of the technical definitionand documentation of leisure crafts (motorboats up to 24m),from pre-concept up to follow-up of construction and sea trials.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• Mass estimation
• Structural calculation (design + scantling ISO 12215-5)
• Stability & seakeeping (calculation ISO 12217-1, booklet and documentation)
• Selection of main components
• Integration of components and network
• Rule assessment and approval follow-up
• Hull design
• Performance & propulsion calculation
• General technical arrangement & main drawings
• Technical documentation & client communication

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of experience with serial-production or semi-custom leisure crafts (up to 24m)
• Proven design office experience with a hands-on track record of taking vessels from concept to production design
• Deep knowledge of all aspects of Naval Architecture
• Good knowledge of RCD and associated ISO rules
• Good understanding of composite construction
• Good know-how of mass estimation
• Technical mindset
• Curiosity and capacity to learn new skills
• Good project management skills
• Fluent English
