Job summary

NestAI, a European AI lab for defence, seeks an AI Transformation Lead to bridge mission needs and NestOS capabilities. You will engage senior leaders, shape opportunities, and guide multi-disciplinary teams from strategy to deployed solutions.

You’ll translate operational challenges into actionable AI and data initiatives, building trust with defence forces, government and industry partners across Europe. Fluency in English is required, Finnish is an advantage.

Qualifications

Job description

NestAI is a European AI lab for defence delivering the adaptive operating system for modern battlefield operations. We develop adaptive intelligence for unmanned and command systems: AI that continuously learns from operational data and adapts to changing conditions.

NestOS is our open, modular and interoperable platform that enables this at scale and keeps capability evolution under sovereign European control. Founded in 2025 by Peter Sarlin, whose previous company Silo AI became Europe's largest AI acquisition, NestAI brings together over 200 engineers and scientists and partners with leading European defence forces and industry.

Role Description

As an AI Transformation Lead, you help defence forces and industry partners understand how AI is changing their operations, where the biggest opportunities lie, and what capabilities are needed to capture them. You are comfortable discussing AI investments with senior leadership and command-level stakeholders, but your credibility comes from delivering change, not just advising on it. You have seen what it takes to move from strategy and pilots to real organisational adoption and operational impact.

We are looking for someone who combines business acumen, genuine curiosity about data and AI, and the ability to build trust with senior decision-makers in demanding environments. You know how to connect strategic conversations with practical action. You build credibility quickly, ask insightful questions, bring energy into the room, and help partners make confident decisions when the path forward is not always obvious. This is a role for someone who can sit between mission needs, NestOS's capabilities, and the multidisciplinary teams that turn ambition into fielded technology.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Executive engagement. Lead discussions with defence, government and industry stakeholders around AI- and data-driven transformation, translating operational challenges into clear opportunities.
• Opportunity shaping. Help partners identify, prioritise and shape AI- and data initiatives with measurable operational and business value.
• Transformation journeys. Facilitate change that connects mission goals, operating models, data capabilities and technology investments into a coherent path forward.
• Execution with teams. Work alongside our multidisciplinary engineering and product teams to turn strategic ambitions into practical, deliverable execution on NestOS.
• Relationships. Build long-term relationships with key stakeholders across European defence forces and industry, and identify new opportunities for collaboration.
• Commercial contribution. Contribute to sales, account development and proposal work together with our commercial teams.

Qualifications:

• Transformation track record. Strong experience in business development and transformation initiatives where AI and data played a significant role.
• Facilitation. Experience facilitating strategic discussions and workshops with key decision-makers, while constructively challenging existing thinking and assumptions.
• Value orientation. Strong understanding of how organisations create value and how technology investments support their objectives.
• AI fluency. Practical understanding of AI and GenAI opportunities, limitations, and adoption challenges.
• Relevant background. Experience working in consulting, professional services, technology companies, or large and complex organisations.
• Commercial instinct. Ability to identify opportunities, grow relationships, and contribute to commercial success.
• Communication. Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Language. Fluency in English. Finnish is considered an advantage.

Exposure to defence, the public sector, or other highly regulated and mission-critical environments is a plus but not required.
