Job summary

CSC - IT Center for Science in Espoo seeks a Research Software Engineer to join the Digital Twin Technologies Group. You will develop AI‑driven digital twin platforms for climate simulations running on EuroHPC systems, collaborating with an international team of scientists and engineers.

The role focuses on distributed workflow orchestration, containerized deployments, CI/CD, benchmarking, and documentation. A degree in a relevant field plus experience with HPC and AI models are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with HPC environments, large-scale workflows, and batch scheduling (Slurm).
• Solid Python and Bash programming skills.
• Experience with workflow management for distributed/parallel execution.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, benchmarking, and performance monitoring.
• Experience with container technologies (Docker, Singularity/Apptainer).
• Fluent English written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain workflow orchestration for distributed, hybrid execution across HPC and cloud environments.
• Develop containerized, reproducible deployments on EuroHPC systems and AI Factories.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines with performance, data quality, and energy‑efficiency metrics.
• Benchmark example pipelines for reusable, reproducible operation on HPC platforms.
• Collaborate with an international project team and contribute to project reporting.
