Job summary

GE Vernova's Wind Global Machine Head Driveline team seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer focused on the main bearing. You will guide the design from concept through production, ensuring reliability and cost targets for utility-scale wind turbines.

You will collaborate across quality, manufacturing, sourcing and suppliers to deliver robust bearings, leveraging NX and FEA tools, GD&T, and rigorous testing to drive performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Extensive mechanical analysis and design experience.
• Working knowledge of technical drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing.
• Experience with 3D-CAD tools like Unigraphics / Siemens NX.

Responsibilities

• Execute projects for new product introduction and field issue resolution.
• Design build-to-spec main bearings for wind turbines.
• Own design documentation such as drawings and specifications.
• Develop testing and validation plans to prove function and reliability.
• Provide innovative design solutions to meet cost and reliability targets.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sourcing and suppliers to improve product quality.
• Drive root cause analysis for field failures and implement corrective actions.
