Merck Healthcare is seeking a Logistics and Warehouse specialist to serve as the technical reference point for Warehouse & Distribution, ensuring GMP/GDP compliance and driving continuous improvement across processes.

You will lead cross-functional projects, manage KPIs, support audits, and collaborate with IT on digitalization and SAP enhancements to promote efficiency, quality and service.

Formación

• University degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering.
• Experience in logistics operations and warehouse management.
• Knowledge of GMP/GDP in a pharmaceutical environment.
• Experience with SAP MM/WM/EWM modules.
• Professional level of English.

Position Purpose

Serve as the technical reference point for Warehouse & Distribution, ensuring operational excellence, GMP/GDP compliance, continuous improvement of logistics processes, and the effective use of information systems, while contributing to digital transformation and fostering a Lean culture within the area.

This role is responsible for driving improvement initiatives, leading cross-functional projects, and providing technical support to warehouse and distribution operations, promoting efficiency, quality, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Excellence and Logistics Processes
• Provide technical support to warehouse and distribution operations.
• Analyze operational incidents and coordinate corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in logistics processes.
• Drive process standardization and the implementation of best practices.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the area.
• Collaborate closely with Supervisors and Management to resolve operational issues and enhance overall area performance.
• Warehouse & Distribution Quality Officer
• Ensure compliance with GMP/GDP requirements applicable to the area.
• Manage or coordinate deviations, CAPAs, change controls, and investigations related to Warehouse & Distribution.
• Support internal audits, corporate audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Participate in the development, review, and maintenance of GMP procedures and documentation.
• Promote a culture of quality and compliance within the team.
• Monitor quality metrics and associated action plans.
• SAP Key User and Digitalization
• Act as the SAP Key User for Warehouse & Distribution.
• Provide functional support to area users.
• Participate in system testing, validation activities, and implementation of system enhancements.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and digitalization.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments on digital transformation projects.
• Ensure the proper use of systems and maintain the quality of master data associated with logistics processes.
• Lean, Continuous Improvement, and Project Management
• Actively participate in the deployment and consolidation of the warehouse Lean program.
• Lead improvement projects focused on increasing productivity, efficiency, quality, and service levels.
• Apply Lean methodologies and continuous improvement tools to eliminate waste and optimize processes.
• Facilitate Kaizen activities, problem-solving initiatives, and cross-functional improvement actions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams in change and transformation projects.
• Evaluate the impact of implemented improvements through performance metrics and data analysis.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the area.

Essential

Education and Required Knowledge

• University degree or technical qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in logistics operations and warehouse management.
• Knowledge of GMP/GDP requirements in a pharmaceutical environment.
• Experience with SAP (MM, WM, EWM, or related modules).
• Experience managing deviations, CAPAs, and change controls.
• Strong data analysis and KPI management skills.
• Professional level of English.

Highly Desirable

• Lean Manufacturing and/or Lean Warehousing experience.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent training.
• Experience with Power BI and data visualization tools.
• Project management experience.
• Process automation and digitalization experience.
• Experience working in regulated pharmaceutical environments.
