ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

NP Digital is seeking a visionary and experienced VP, Earned Media to lead our SEO and Content Marketing services in Spain. This role is heavily weighted toward SEO, including on‑page, off‑page, technical, e‑commerce, international, GEO/LLM SEO, and emerging areas such as AI Optimisation.

The ideal candidate will oversee our Earned Media teams, ensuring our processes, delivery, tools, and strategies are at the forefront of the industry; alongside proactively keeping our client relationships strong.

You will also play a key role in integrating Paid Media knowledge strategically into client projects - partnering with Paid Media leaders to propose integrated strategies without taking direct execution ownership.

This role requires thought leadership, innovation, and the ability to translate emerging trends into actionable strategies that deliver measurable business outcomes.

This is a roll‑up‑your‑sleeves kind‑of position that will involve the ability to multi‑task, prioritise, and collaborate.

While this role is remote, we value in‑person connection. We ask for occasional visits to our Madrid office, with flexibility depending on the candidate.

To be considered, candidates must reside and be eligible to work in Spain and are required to be fluent in both Spanish and English.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Managing Director, the VP, Earned Media will be responsible for:

  • Lead and Mentor Earned Media Leads and their teams, ensuring strong performance management, training, and talent development.
  • Define and evolve team structures to best align with the needs of current and future clients.
  • Craft the strategic approach for the market and support the teams in implementing that strategy through various tactics to ensure client success.
  • Embed AI into processes and campaigns to deliver immediate impact and long‑term success as the digital landscape evolves.
  • Assisting the teams to deliver the world‑class service our clients have come to expect from NPD, following the award‑winning blueprint established by the company, making tweaks when necessary for the success of the regional clients.
  • Drive innovation by developing new service offerings in Earned Media, with a strong emphasis on GEO/LLM SEO and AI Optimisation; collaborating with our expansive global team that is constantly pushing boundaries in these areas.
  • Ensure the delivery of cutting‑edge SEO and content strategies for clients across industries, including enterprise and international brands.
  • Create, implement, and update delivery processes that drive efficiency without sacrificing effectiveness.
  • Act as a senior strategic partner in client engagements, collaborating with Paid Media and other departments to deliver holistic strategies.
  • Represent NP Digital in new business pitches and at industry conferences as a thought leader.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex client and sales challenges.
  • Own the P&L of the Earned Media department, balancing innovation and efficiency to meet revenue and profitability goals.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top SEO and content marketing talent.
  • Continue to educate the team on current best practices and the strategies + tactics that will succeed in the future to ensure campaign longevity.
  • Iterate and refine deliverables to ensure they are both strategic and compelling for clients.
  • Elevate our reporting to ensure that our clients are aligned and understand the intricacies of our digital campaigns through streamlined narratives and visuals.

ABOUT YOU
  • 10-15+ years of experience in digital marketing with deep expertise in SEO, Content Marketing, UX, Digital PR, and Generative AI visibility. Supplementary experience in other channels (Email, Paid, etc) is preferred.
  • Proven track record managing complex Earned Media campaigns for Fortune 500 or equivalent clients, with experience leading multi‑market campaigns that encapsulate multiple channels.
  • Experience in emerging SEO areas such as GEO/LLM SEO and AI Optimisation.
  • Strong ability to integrate SEO with Paid Media and other marketing channels for holistic strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in building, mentoring, and leading high‑performing teams.
  • Experience managing a P&L, with the ability to forecast costs – especially for hiring needs.
  • Data‑driven problem solver with strong analytical skills and ability to apply strategic frameworks.
  • Strong communicator able to translate complex technical concepts into engaging narratives for C‑suite and marketing leaders.
  • Confident presenter with thought leadership experience, ideally including speaking at conferences or industry events.
  • Deep understanding of agency business operations and how to leverage performance tactics for long‑term client success.
