Applus+ IDIADA is a global leader in automotive engineering, offering a dynamic career opportunity in vehicle dynamics and chassis development. You will work on advanced simulation activities to support attributes development programs, contributing to safer and more efficient vehicles.

The role requires 5+ years in automotive chassis development, strong knowledge of Matlab/Python, and exposure to multi-body dynamics tools.

Formación

• B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in automotive chassis development focusing on Vehicle Dynamics.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics theory and components such as hardpoints, steering, springs, dampers, tires and bushings.
• Understanding of the performance development process from target setting to validation and sign-off.
• Experience with multi-body dynamics tools (ADAMS) and lookup-table based models.

Responsabilidades

• Build chassis and complete vehicle models.
• Perform virtual simulations to evaluate suspension kinematics, compliance and vehicle handling.
• Optimize chassis parameters to meet performance targets.
• Prepare/write project reports.
• Presentation of project results and support decision making.
• Support project management and customer communications.

Job Description

Role summary

Responsible for carrying out vehicle dynamics advanced simulation activities to support attributes development programs.

Responsibilities

Perform complete vehicle and suspension simulations to provide direction to the chassis development programs, while minimizing the need for physical testing.

The main responsibilities of this role will be:

• Build chassis and complete vehicle models
• Perform virtual simulations to evaluate suspension kinematics & compliance and complete vehicle handling & ride comfort.
• Optimize chassis parameters in order to meet performance targets
• Prepare/write project reports
• Presentation of project results and support decision making

To support project management and commercial actions:

• Presentation of project proposals and project results to customers
• Management of client communication and reporting

Qualifications

Technical qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• More than 5 years of experience in automotive chassis development with a focus on Vehicle Dynamics.
• Knowledge of vehicle dynamics theory and contributions from individual components— hardpoints, steering, springs, bars, dampers, tires, bushings, etc to suspension K&C and full-vehicle performance.
• Strong understanding of the performance development process, from target setting and target cascading to validation and sign-off.
• Vehicle dynamics simulation experience with multi-body (ADAMS) and/or lookup tables-based models (VI-CarRealTime, IPG CarMaker, CarSim, etc)
• Data post-processing skills.
• Strong knowledge of programming with Matlab and/or Python.
