Applus IDIADA is seeking a Test Engineer in Spain to execute testing projects focused on structural durability and abuse performance of vehicles. You will serve as a window contact with clients, manage multiple projects hands-on, and ensure high client satisfaction from technical and quality perspectives.

You will study client test requirements, create procedures, specify instrumentation, and analyze data while collaborating with vehicle technicians and design teams. Travel may be required.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Job Description

Reporting to the Testing Manager, he/she will be involved in carrying out Testing Projects focused mainly on the study of the structural durability and abuse performance of the vehicles.

The Test Engineer will be in charge of the execution of the testing projects which he/she will be assigned for and will act as window person with the client. The successful Test Engineer has a self-starting mentality, enjoys working hands‑on on a variety of projects simultaneously and understands how to achieve a high level of "client" satisfaction from technical and quality points of view.

In particular, the Test Engineer will be in charge of the following responsibilities and duties:

• Study of client’s test requirements.
• Create test procedures, plans and test reports to support the test project.
• Specify instrumentation & equipment on test vehicles and perform test data collection (RLDA) using sensors like wheel force transducers, accelerometers, strain gages, string potentiometers etc.
• Design, creation and implementation of automated data analysis scripts to analyse the collected data.
• Analyse and process the collected test data and check for data integrity.
• Work in close collaboration with vehicle technicians, instrumentation and design teams.
• Write test reports to document results of testing and to communicate issues found.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• The role will be based in IDIADA Spain and will require travel based on project characteristics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• 1+ years ofexperience in vehicle-level testing projects related to the activities described in Job Description section.

Test Equipment Expertise:

• Proficient use and handling of test equipment including:
  • Wheel force transducers
  • Accelerometers
  • Strain gauges
  • String potentiometers

Software Proficiency:

• Data acquisition and analysis platforms (CATMAN, Glyphworks n-Code, Siemens TestLab, RPC)
• Programming and analytical tools (MATLAB, Python)

Communication Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Experience writing formal procedures, plans, and technical reports
• Comfortable leading client meetings and presenting test results with technical depth
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Soft Skills:

• Proactive – shows eagerness in learning & finding ways to meet deliverables without dependency.
