Job summary

Welocalize is seeking a native-level Urdu speaker for a confidential, on-site AI and consumer technology programme. You will review pre-release Urdu model output, compare with English, and document issues with detailed steps for reproduction.

The role requires strong linguistic precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a secure office environment. Candidates should be fluent in Urdu, comfortable with smartphones and laptops, and able to follow a test script while communicating

Qualifications

• Native-level Urdu, written and spoken, with a current feel for how the language is really used day-to-day
• Confidence with smartphone and laptop, comfortable moving between iOS and Android
• Able to follow detailed test scripts and guidelines and explain issues clearly in English
• Experience in software or app testing, localization QA, or linguistic evaluation is a plus though not essential

Responsibilities

• Review pre-release AI model output in Urdu and judge it for accuracy, naturalness, and appropriateness against sources
• Test the Urdu experience against the English version, ensure feature parity and correct handling of non-Latin scripts
• Identify display or localization errors and document steps to reproduce with device, OS, locale, and build ID
• Write clear issue reports for developers and re-test after fixes
• Provide language and usability insights specific to Urdu to improve navigation and experience
• Work on-site in Welocalize offices; remote work is not possible for this programme
• Support other linguistic projects as needed

Welocalize is looking for a native-level Urdu speaker to join a confidential, large-scale AI and consumer technology programme for a major global technology and communications client.

It's a hands-on, on-site role that combines two things: evaluating a pre-release AI model in your language, and testing how the product actually performs on a client-supplied device - a smartphone and a next-generation smart glass. If you enjoy noticing the detail other people miss, this is work you'll find satisfying.

Welocalize is looking for a native-level Urdu speaker to join a large-scale AI and consumer technology programme.

It's a hands-on, on-site role that combines two things: evaluating a pre-release AI model in your language, and testing how it performs on a real device. You'll be among the first people to see this technology in Urdu, and your judgement shapes how well it works before anyone else uses it.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review pre-release AI model output in Urdu and judge it on accuracy, naturalness, appropriateness, and overall quality - would a native speaker really say it this way? This includes fact-checking each response against the source material.

• Test the Urdu experience against the English one: confirm feature parity, complete a full user journey using non-English input, and check the product handles non-Latin script, diacritics, right-to-left text, and mixed-language input correctly.

• Spot any display problem (text cut off, overflowing, or rendering badly) and any localization error - a wrong date, number, currency, unit, or a string left untranslated.

• Write up each issue clearly so a developer can reproduce it: the step taken, the device and operating system, the locale, the build ID, and supporting evidence. Re-test once a fix lands to confirm it's resolved.

• Share your perspective as a native-level speaker on navigation, usability, and the language-specific nuance only a fluent speaker would catch.

• Work on-site in a private, secure area of the Welocalize office. Because of the confidential, pre-release nature of the technology, a remote or work-from-home arrangement isn't possible for this programme.

• Support other linguistic projects as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Native-level or fully bilingual Urdu, written and spoken, with a current feel for how the language is really used day-to-day - every day and technical.

• Confidence with a smartphone and a laptop, and comfort moving between iOS and Android.

• A sharp eye for detail and fair, objective judgement when assessing quality.

• The ability to work independently, follow a detailed test script and guideline, and explain an issue clearly in English.

• Previous experience in software or app testing, localization QA, or linguistic evaluation is a strong plus - though not essential if you bring the language skill and the attention to detail.
