Job summary
Referment, partnering with a leading pan-European trading platform, seeks a Unix Application Support Engineer in Madrid. You will support production and test trading platforms in a high-performance, real-time environment, focusing on application support rather than pure sysadmin work.
You will work a late shift (16:00–00:00 CET) and join a hybrid team attending the office 3 days a week. The role involves troubleshooting, automation, and collaboration across IT and trading teams to sustain
Qualifications
- Expert-level Unix/Linux command line experience is essential.
- Advanced scripting in Bash, Python, and/or Perl with strong logic.
- Availability to work late shifts (16:00 to 00:00 CET).
- Hybrid working model with 3 days in the office.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring trading platforms and incidents.
- Troubleshooting, recovery, and root cause analysis.
- Automating tasks and reporting (Bash, Python, Perl).
- Supporting deployments and change processes.
- Working with FIX/ITCH protocols.
- Analyzing Unix system performance.
- Collaborating with Ops, QA, Dev, and Market Control teams.
