Universidad de Huelva invites applications for a First Stage Researcher position in the Chemistry/Biochemistry area. The role supports a Biofuels project with BioOils Huelva S.L., focusing on microalgae cultivation and biomolecule analysis.

A Bachelor degree in Chemistry is required, with hands-on lab experience and active participation in data reporting. The contract is full-time and starting December 1, 2026, with a monthly gross salary around 2,065.96 € plus prorated extra payments.

Duties and responsibilities:

Performance of the following research support tasks:

1. Cultivation of microalgae under controlled conditions.
2. Monitoring of physiological and biochemical parameters, at laboratory scale, under different experimental conditions.
3. Extraction, quantification and support in the characterization of the project’s target biomolecules, using spectrophotometry, GC and HPLC, among other techniques.
4. Support in the scale-up of bioprocesses to 15 L systems.
5. Participation in data analysis and report preparation.

Selection process

1. Academic record (maximum 3 points).
1.1. Average grade in the Bachelor’s degree.
1.2. Average grade in an Official Master’s degree with a minimum of 60 credits completed in the field of Chemistry.

2. Professional and research experience directly related to the contract profile (maximum 6 points).

3. Specific training (maximum 1 point). Other accredited training and specific skills related to the contract profile will be assessed.
