A leading tree care company in Alcalá de Guadaíra seeks a Trimmer/Climber Trainee. Responsibilities include trimming trees, maintaining safety practices, and training new employees. Candidates should have at least 3 months of relevant experience and a valid driver’s license. This is a full-time position requiring the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Formación

• At least 3 months of experience in tree trimming or clearing crews.
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds infrequently.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a drug test.

Title: Trimmer/Climber Trainee
Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt
Reports to: Foreperson/General Foreperson

Essential Functions:

• Trim and/or remove trees by climbing with the aid of ladders, safety belts, climbing lines, powered trimmer lift trucks, or work from the ground using saws and pruners. Cut branches or trunk sections and lower them to the ground with lines.
• Use appropriate tools to fell trees or trimmed trunks and split them into manageable pieces.
• Spray stumps and brush with hand-spraying equipment to prevent regrowth.
• Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris; feed brush into wood chippers.
• Repair minor damages to lawns, fences, and walks caused by tree trimming.
• Relay hand signals, direct traffic, operate trucks and equipment, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Train new employees on proper procedures.
• Ensure safety by safeguarding employees and the public from hazards; cooperate with emergency services when blocking streets or driveways; set up barriers, warning signs, and flags. Trained in tree and bucket rescue.
• Inspect and maintain tools, trucks, and equipment; request repairs when necessary.
• Work around hazardous equipment and near energized power lines.
• Operate in noisy environments, wearing proper PPE.
• Work in various weather conditions, including temperatures, rain, heat, cold, and snow; exposed to nature, irritating plants, insects, dust, etc.
• Assist in enforcing safety practices among crew members.
• Service and maintain trucks, chippers, and equipment; report maintenance needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 3 months of experience in tree trimming or clearing crews or successful completion of performance reviews.
• Enforce safety practices.
• Ability to wear PPE as required.
• Ability to frequently enter and exit vehicles.
• Capable of working in all weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, and understand instructions.
• Communicate professionally.
• Lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds infrequently and 30 pounds frequently.
• Work long hours, overtime, and emergency call-outs.
• Operate and service necessary tools and equipment.
• Valid driver’s license; pass drug test.
• Maintain herbicide certification/license as required.
• Valid First-Aid and CPR cards.
• Complete and pass a Climber Trainee Performance Review.
