Job summary

Commerzbank Madrid is seeking a Trainee in Trade Finance to gain hands-on experience with the full product suite and the end-to-end processing of export and import activities for Spanish corporates.

You will support the Trade Service Specialist, ensure compliance with guidelines, and collaborate with Sales and Relationship Managers in a dynamic, international environment. Fluency in Spanish and English is essential; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics or related field completed within the last 12 months.
• Analytical and organizational skills demonstrated.
• Deep understanding of the banking industry.
• Great teamwork and willingness to work in an international environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel & PowerPoint.
• Genuine interest in AI in banking and practical integration.
• Fluent in Spanish and English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn the complete Trade Finance product suite and processing of Export/Import activities.
• Support the Trade Service Specialist in documentary and guarantee processing (including system input).
• Ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines and regulatory requirements within deadlines.
• Collaborate with Transaction Banking Sales Specialist and Relationship Manager for corporate clients.
• Check client communications and bank messages for completeness and authenticity; scan, document and dispatch documents.
