Job summary

Commerzbank Madrid is seeking a Trade Finance Trainee to support the processing of documentary and guarantee activities for Spanish corporates. You will learn the full product suite and work with local Sales teams to ensure smooth operations.

You will develop analytical skills, gain deep banking knowledge, and collaborate in an international environment, using MS Office daily and leveraging AI insights in banking tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Economics or related field from a Spanish university or vocational training center.
• Proven analytical and organizational skills.
• Deep understanding of the banking industry.
• Great team player and willing to work in an international environment.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel & PowerPoint.
• Genuine interest in AI and how to apply it in day-to-day banking.
• Fluent in Spanish and English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Get to know the details of the full Trade Finance product suite and overview for Spanish corporates.
• Support the Trade Service Specialist in processing documentary and guarantee Trade Finance activities (including system input).
• Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines and meet deadlines.
• Work with Transaction Banking Sales Specialist and Relationship Manager to support corporate clients.
• Check client communications for completeness and authenticity; document and dispatch documents.
• Contribute to Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism first line of defense.
