Alstom is seeking a Train Control Engineer responsible for the architecture and functional specification at the train level. You will manage TCMS deliverables across tender, design, and warranty phases, ensuring quality across electronical, software, and system domains.

The role involves coordinating on-site and remote teams and interfacing with Train System, Design, Electrical, Validation, RAMS, and other stakeholders.

Formación

• Engineering degree required.
• Rolling stock knowledge related to TCMS and on-board system design.
• Familiarity with electrical schematics and product definitions.
• Knowledge of software QA and systems engineering principles.
• Experience with IEC 61375, EN50128, EN5012 standards and TCMS architectures.
• Hands-on experience with RS485, MVB, CIP, TRDP protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Team leadership and requirements management experience.
• Model-based control design using Control Build, MATLAB/Simulink, Matrix.
• Fluent English language.

Responsabilidades

We’re looking for a Train Control Engineer which will be responsible for the architecture and theoverall functional specification (at the Train level), which govern all interactions between the multiple on-board communicating systems (e.g. TCMS computer, man-machine interface, doors, traction, passenger information, sound system, air conditioning, video protection, etc.), in order to meet the needs of the specifications. This person will be specifically taking care of managing the development of all Train Control & Information Systems (TC&IS) deliverables (sub-system, control/functional and software products) for a project from tender phase unting validations, including specification and design phases and support until the end of warranty period, but also ensuring the quality on all domain of their project (functional schemes, system architectures, electronics & apparatus, train and HMI Softwares, etc.) You’ll work alongside people who show up with ownership, passion, and dedication — because they know what’s at stake: the journey home.

Your role, your impact

• Be responsible of all TCMS deliverables including requirements and means of proof, network and system architectures, software especifications, functional descriptions as well as funcional schemes all in compliance wit the Quality, Cost and Delivery project commitments.
• Lead all the design reviews along the project execution to move ahead on the different project’s gate reviews and phases, from tender until validation and certification phases including end of warranty phase.
• Manage a multidisciplinary team, on site and remote worldwide, to execute the work packages related to control, software and system activities. Functional management of the TC&IS resources of his/her project (Control Engineer, System Engineers and SW Engineers). Follow-up closely and KPI monitoring with adherence to technical progress.
• Direct reporting to the Project Engineering Manager into a cross-functional engineering team working closely with Train System Engineer, Train Design Engineer, Train Electrical Engineer, Train Validation, RAMS and other transversal stakeholders.

What you bring

• Engineering degree required (electronics, computer engineering, or a related field).
• Rolling stock knowledge related to TCMS, On board system or functional & control design supported by experience on several functions previously performed.
• Familiarity with electrical schematics and product definitions.
• Knowledge of software quality assurance and systems engineering principles.
• Experience with IEC 61375, EN50128, EN5012 standards, TCMS architectures, and solution definition.
• Hands-on experience with network and communication protocols such as RS485, MVB, WTB, CIP, TRDP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Work Package and team management experience. Requirements management too.
• Hands-on experience in design & development of model based control systems using application tools like Control Build, Matlab / Simulink, Matrix or similar tools.
• Proactive communication & decision making. Team-oriented mindset. Proactive team building spirit. Fluent English language.
