Job summary

DS Smith Plc is seeking a Commercial Procurement Specialist for the Madrid Mill to define and implement the sourcing strategy for recovered fiber and raw materials, ensuring alignment with mill operations and quality standards. You will build strong supplier relationships, analyze markets, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance to drive cost savings and supply chain efficiency.

The role requires close collaboration with Operations, Logistics, and production teams to ensure smooth material

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the commercial procurement strategy for Madrid Mill in coordination with the Fiber Supply Manager.
• Ensure a stable and competitive supply of recovered fiber and raw materials, aligned with the mill’s requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, waste management companies, traders, and market stakeholders.
• Identify and attract new suppliers and business opportunities in domestic and export markets.
• Conduct market analysis and monitor trends, pricing, availability, and the competitive landscape.
• Perform data analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and supply chain efficiencies.
• Negotiate purchase prices and commercial agreements with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and contractual compliance.
• Coordinate with Operations, Logistics, and Mill teams to align procurement with production needs.
• Manage orders, claims, incidents, and supplier-related issues to ensure timely resolution.
• Support the commercialization and sale of secondary materials when required.
• Ensure accurate reporting and maintenance of procurement documentation and KPIs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across sourcing, logistics, and operations.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, waste management companies, traders, and key market stakeholders.
• Identify and attract new suppliers and business opportunities in both domestic and export markets.
• Conduct market analysis and monitor industry trends, pricing movements, availability, and competitive landscape.
• Perform data analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, operational efficiencies, and supply chain synergies.
• Negotiate purchase prices and commercial agreements with suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance and contractual compliance.
• Coordinate with Operations, Logistics, and Mill teams to ensure smooth material flows and alignment between procurement and production needs.
• Manage and follow up on orders, claims, incidents, and supplier-related issues to ensure timely resolution.
• Support the commercialization and sale of secondary materials such as paper, plastics, and metals when required.
• Ensure accurate reporting, administrative support, and maintenance of procurement-related documentation and KPIs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across sourcing, logistics, and operational processes.
