EDP is seeking a Trade Finance specialist to support the Corporate Finance Department in managing global Trade Finance instruments, including bank guarantees and letters of credit. You will maintain instruments registers, develop BI dashboards, and provide analysis to optimize costs while ensuring IFRS/GAAP compliance.

The role requires 1–3 years in corporate or trade finance, strong analytical and communication skills, and fluency in English.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration (MBA or masters is a plus).
  • 1–3 years of experience in corporate or trade finance, treasury or similar role; more experience is a plus.
  • Experience in the energy or infrastructure sector is a plus.
  • Knowledge of accounting software (SAP, TMS, Bloomberg) and GAAP/IFRS.
  • MS Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerBI and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments, their structure, valuation and accounting treatment.
  • Experience or exposure to AI solutions for finance is a plus.
  • English is mandatory; Spanish or Portuguese are appreciated.

Responsabilidades

  • Coordinate the full lifecycle of Trade Finance instruments with banks and beneficiaries.
  • Maintain an accurate register of active instruments and tracking across platforms.
  • Monitor facility usage and flag renewals or capacity constraints.
  • Develop Power BI dashboards and reporting tools for exposure and cost visibility.
  • Prepare periodic reports and financial notes for management and group reporting.
  • Analyze banking fees and guarantee costs to optimize costs.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting with accurate projections.
  • Act as a Trade Finance focal point for internal teams across the organization.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Accounting on documentation and accounting treatments.

Support the Corporate Finance Department with the management of Trade Finance instruments globally, including corporate support and external support such as bank guarantees, SBLCs, Import Letters of Credit, and surety/performance bonds.

Ensure accurate tracking, reporting and analysis of all instruments, while maintaining effective relationships with banking partners, guarantee beneficiaries and internal stakeholders across the organization.

Main responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the full lifecycle of Trade Finance instruments (issuance, renewal, amendment, cancellation), liaising directly with banks/surety companies, beneficiaries and business units..
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date register of all active instruments, tracking amounts, maturities, beneficiaries, and facility utilization across platforms.
  • Monitor Trade facilities usage, flagging upcoming renewals, price reviews or capacity constraints in advance.
  • Manage and develop Power BI dashboards and reporting tools providing visibility on Trade Finance exposures and costs.
  • Prepare periodic reports and financial notes for management, parent company reporting, and annual report and accounts.
  • Perform analysis of banking fees and guarantee costs, providing recommendations to optimize cost-efficiency.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes with accurate projections of Trade Finance costs and facility needs.
  • Act as Trade Finance focal point for internal teams including Procurement, Origination, Asset Management, PMO, Legal, Tax and Accounting.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Accounting on documentation, accounting treatment, and audit support for Trade Finance instruments.
  • Support the internal approval process for new facilities by preparing financial memos and presentations.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Group policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory and accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
  • Other duties as assigned.

What are we looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration. MBA, master’s in management or advance Degree in Finance, as plus.
  • 1-3 years of experience in corporate or trade finance, treasury or similar role, more experience as a plus.
  • Experience in the energy or infrastructure sector is a plus.
  • Knowledge of appropriate accounting and financial software’s (SAP, TMS systems, Bloomberg...).
  • Acknowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Report Standards (IFRS).
  • MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerBI and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments, including their structure, valuation and accounting treatment.
  • Experience working and/or developing AI solutions for finance as a plus.
  • English (mandatory), ability to read, write and speak fluently.
  • Spanish or Portuguese appreciated as additional languages.
