Job summary

ABB is seeking a Field Service Engineer in Valencia, Spain to perform on-site and remote technical support for installation, commissioning and maintenance of power electronic equipment. You’ll work with the Traction Team, apply motor and drive expertise, and ensure first-time-right service with safety and quality standards.

The role requires a degree in Electrical/Power Electronics, 1 year of field service experience, and a good command of English. International travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Power Electronics or CFGS in similar fields.
• 1 year of experience as Field Service Engineer with measurement technology in power electronics (up to 4kV) and IGBT converter technology.
• Medium-high level of English.
• Experience servicing, maintaining, commissioning and repairing drives, traction or wind power converters.

Responsibilities

• Execute service work with MOTR – Traction Team in Valencia, Spain.
• Plan and execute service work with a first-time-right approach for customers.
• Provide on-site or remote technical support for installation, commissioning and routine maintenance.
• Identify technical problems and perform analysis through remote or on-site activity.
• Consult and advise customers on the best service solutions per standard processes and safety guidelines.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and understand their needs.
• International travel will be required to support customer sites.
