We are revolutionizing the space industry with ground‑breaking innovations that allow us to offer the best performance to cost propulsion systems.

Our goal is to be the propulsion provider for the next generation of spacecraft, which is essential to meet demands and compete in the booming space market of the next decade.

We are a passionate, multicultural, and multidisciplinary team pushing the boundaries of what is possible in space propulsion technology.

We have already made history by successfully testing the world's first 3D‑printed Methalox Aerospike engine, marking a significant milestone for the space industry.

We are looking for talented professionals to join our international teams in Barcelona and Toulouse. We want to be a key player in improving diversity in the Aerospace sector and, in Pangea, we believe that diversity (gender, age, race, sexual orientation, beliefs, disability, culture, etc.) is a key to success. Within Pangea, everyone can grow with the same opportunities. We encourage you to apply. Individually we are different, but together we are an amazing team!

We are looking for a Test Engineer in Barcelona

We are seeking a Test Engineer to join our growing test team in Barcelona, supporting the testing of rocket engines and in‑space propulsion systems.

You will play a key role in propulsion test campaigns, from assessment and preparation phases through commissioning, execution, and reporting, while also contributing to the development, improvement, and expansion of our test facilities.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience with cutting‑edge rocket engine technology, including both cryogenic rocket engines and in‑space propulsion systems, working side by side with experienced engineers in space propulsion.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure that all tests are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

This role requires frequent travel to our internal test site located at Alguaire Airport (Lleida), approximately 2 hours by car from Barcelona, with all travel expenses fully covered. Occasional travel to external test facilities within Spain and abroad may also be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the assessment, planning, preparation, execution, and reporting of space propulsion system tests, including cryogenic rocket engines, in‑space propulsion systems, and rocket engine subsystems such as turbopumps.
  • Assist in the operation and maintenance of test facilities and ground support equipment, developing and following procedures, checklists, and upgrades, always with safety at the core.
  • Contribute to the development of space propulsion systems by providing high‑quality and reliable test data.
  • Participate in data acquisition setup, calibration, and test instrumentation activities.
  • Perform post‑test data analysis and contribute to the preparation of test result reports.
  • Collaborate with design and systems engineers to define test objectives, parameters, and success criteria.
  • Support the implementation of preventive maintenance programs for facility equipment.
  • Identify and implement improvements to test setups, procedures, and instrumentation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal safety, quality, and operational standards.
What You Need to Be Successful
  • Around 2 years of experience in aerospace, propulsion, or hardware testing (academic or professional).
  • Experience with testing activities, ideally within aerospace or propulsion systems.
  • A strong engineering background, ideally in aerospace.
  • Familiarity with cryogenic or liquid propellant systems is highly valued but not required.
  • Understanding of test instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • Basic knowledge of safety practices in high‑pressure or cryogenic environments.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, planning, and hands‑on problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑functional, fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly and thoroughly document test activities and results.
  • Proactive and eager to learn, with a willingness to take initiative and ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW).
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
