Tenure-track Faculty positions in Computer Science: Software Development 2026-2027

IE University´s School of Science and Technology invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Computer Science with a specialization in Software Development. We are seeking a dynamic candidate with expertise in modern programming paradigms and development methodologies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in object-oriented programming, software engineering, agile methodologies, testing frameworks, and DevOps practices, as well as experience in rapid prototyping and startup product development.

We value candidates with the capacity to collaborate in applied research projects led by the Impact Xcelerator at IE School of Science and Technology, specifically in Entrepreneurship & Digital Transformation initiatives.

The ability to contribute to rapid prototyping, startup product development, and MVP design will be key to the role's success, providing opportunities to work closely with emerging ventures and innovation ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and teach courses at undergraduate and graduate levels in Software Development, including Computer Programming I & II, Software Engineering, Project Management, DevOps, and Software Architecture.
  • Conduct high-impact research in areas such as software quality assurance, continuous integration/deployment, microservices architecture, or modern development frameworks, while actively securing competitive research funds.
  • Supervise and mentor students across undergraduate, graduate, and Ph.D. programs.
  • Collaborate with startup ecosystems and entrepreneurial ventures on innovative software solutions and rapid prototyping initiatives.
  • Play an active role in curriculum development, incorporating emerging trends in software development, including low-code/no-code platforms and AI-assisted programming.
  • Participate in academic service and contribute to the strategic growth of the School of Science and Technology.

Qualifications

  • A PhD degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Information/Computer Systems.
  • A strong foundation in object-oriented programming, software engineering, agile methodologies, testing frameworks, and DevOps practices, as well as experience in rapid prototyping and startup product development.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Spanish is desirable but not mandatory.
