Job summary

Lightsource bp is seeking a senior commercial professional to drive growth in Solar, BESS and Wind projects across Europe. You will manage opportunities from pre-tender through contract award, aligning with development, technical, legal and HSE teams.

You will negotiate terms, lead stakeholders, and improve processes while representing the company at events and maintaining our high standards of integrity and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in renewable energy/construction, ideally EPC.
• Experience with PV, BESS or Wind projects.
• Strong negotiation and contract closure experience.
• Excellent English; Portuguese or Italian a plus.
• Understanding of European energy project lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Provide support during EPC and O&M tender processes from RFQ to award.
• Coordinate with development, technical, legal, and HSE for tender specs.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with bidders.
• Recommend contract awards through risk and cost reviews.
• Lead meetings and communications to ensure project efficiency.
• Represent Lightsource bp at events and promote strategy.

What you’ll do (the role)

Summary

In this role, you’ll bring the necessary expertise and relevant industry contacts to contribute to the rapid growth of our pipeline of Solar, BESS and Wind projects. You will manage project opportunities from pre-tender phase through to contract award and Notice to Proceed.

Alongside your main position, you’ll manage, create and update processes that benefit the team and business, taking initiative to improve how we do things.

Responsibilities of the Role

• Provide support during the EPC and O&M tender process including preparation and issuance of requests for quotation/invitations to tender, on-boarding new contractors and working closely with development teams.
• Enquire and coordinate with Project Team representatives (development, technical, legal, HSE, etc.) for specification / technical and clarifications required for tenders and proposals.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with bidders based on the requirements of the project.
• Recommend the awarding of the contract through allocation of risks & cost review.
• Oversee projects effectively – leading meetings and communications and directing stakeholders to ensure maximum efficiency. This necessitates a high level of action-orientated, clear communication at all times, including weekly and monthly meetings/reporting to peers and project team.
• Represent Lightsource bp at company events, conveying our business and development acumen in a professional manner while enforcing company strategies.

Why you’ll make a great member of the team

Experience & Knowledge Required

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the renewable energy and construction industries, ideally with an EPC company or a similar organization like Lightsource bp.
• Proven experience in PV, BESS or Wind projects.
• Proven experience in contract negotiation, closing agreements, and managing claims.
• Extensive experience in commercial contract negotiations
• Developing and managing work-related projects, deadlines and resources across cross-function teams is a must.
• Strong relationship with EPC’s and ICP Contractors.
• Experience with O&M Contracts
• Comprehensive understanding of the energy project lifecycle and key industry players for Solar, BESS and Wind projects.
• Expertise in construction contracts, including FIDIC contract structures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Portuguese or Italian will be a plus.
• Deep understanding of the renewable energy sector, energy policies, and environmental issues in the European region.
