Job summary

Unknown Client in Spain is seeking a dedicated Especialista en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales (PRL) to join a fully remote team. The role focuses on supporting projects in the Vigo, Galicia region, developing and implementing health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and guiding site teams and management.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in construction health and safety, with strong knowledge of Spanish legislation, and expertise in delivering safety training.

Qualifications

• University degree in Occupational Health and Safety.
• Master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention (or equivalent official qualification in Spain).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of Spanish health and safety legislation applicable to construction.
• Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in standard safety management software and office applications.
• Ability to work independently and manage time in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve health and safety management systems and policies for construction sites nationwide, with a focus on Vigo.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and site inspections (remotely where possible) and coordinate on-site personnel to identify hazards and recommend controls.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide expert advice and training to site managers, supervisors, and workers on health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with national and regional health and safety legislation and standards.
• Prepare and maintain accurate health and safety documentation, including reports, records, and emergency plans.
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety considerations into planning and execution phases.
• Stay updated on occupational health and safety legislation and technology changes.
• Promote a strong safety culture and proactive safety behaviors throughout the organization.
